Rebekah Vardy is rumoured to be preparing to go to court again with her famed adversary Coleen Rooney over a hefty legal cost.
After losing their libel lawsuit in July of last year, the WAG and wife of Leicester star Jamie Vardy was compelled to pay 90% of Coleen’s expenses.
However, the bill is supposedly arriving on Rebekah’s doorstep for £1.8million, which is 300% higher than the agreed-upon amount.
It has recently been claimed that the celebrity wife and mother-of-five would be held liable for £2,000 in five-star hotel expenses incurred by Coleen’s attorneys throughout the course of their court procedures.
In among the supposed extra costs, the team is also said to have enjoyed a £225 breakfast and drinks session at Nobu Hotel in the city, according to The Sun.
At the conclusion of the trial, the 41-year-old footballer’s wife was warned that 90% of her rival’s costs would land on her lap, although the precise amount was not disclosed.
According to the magazine, she learned of the final number in April and realised she would be out £1.8 million rather than the purported budgeted sum of £500,000 promised by the Rooney legal team during the trial.
Sources warned the tabloid that a potential legal ‘battle’ might be on the horizon over the charges as she was only prepared to pay what she ‘rightfully owed’.
They continued: ‘Becky was furious after seeing Coleen’s bill and hired a legal team to push back. To her, it’s war.
‘In court Coleen’s costs were budgeted at just over £500,000 and Becky thinks she’s pushing her luck by asking for almost £2million.
‘Her legal team has said that some of the costs appear to have been inflated.
‘They went back to Coleen’s team and asked for a detailed breakdown of some of the points.’
Mrs Justice Steyn found that Coleen’s viral social media post accusing her counterpart of exposing her confidential information to the public was’substantially factual,’ and Rebekah lost her high-profile libel action against her.
