Jessie J has fallen to the flu, and in a humorous update, she goes into great detail on what that implies when pregnant.
The singer is expecting her first child, a son, with basketball player lover Chanan Safir Colman later this year and has kept her fans updated throughout her long-awaited journey.
Her candid pregnant conversations and posts, which have featured bizarre cucumber cravings and eating meat for the first time in years, are, on the other hand, dependable.
So when she took to Instagram early Thursday morning to disclose that she was sick, she went into great detail.
The Price Tag chart-topper initially posted: ‘The illness got me,’ with a little greyed-out emoji.
She later returned to express her dissatisfaction with the negative effects of her illness.
‘I may as well sleep on the toilet at this point,’ she began.
‘Keeping your fluids up whilst sick whilst pregnant is a match made in ‘we got any more loo roll’ heaven,’ Jessie then quipped, adding a laugh-cry emoji as she shared the particular nature of her struggles.
The chart-topper was in London at the end of February for two triumphant sold-out gigs at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
For one of her performances, she proudly displayed her growing baby bump in a dazzling sheer black jumpsuit ensemble, complete with a floor-length overcoat, and all covered in diamantes.
Her small performance came amid promises of an album and a global tour, as the singer said she plans to return to the road with new songs in 2024.
Jessie announced her pregnancy 13 months after informing her fans of her miscarriage.
‘As I lay here (2am) can’t sleep,’ the pop singer admitted on her Instagram story.
‘Thinking about today and the overwhelming amount of love and support I am feeling. I can’t help but think about all the women and men still struggling with loss and infertility.
‘It feels so strange to be on this side after being told I would never get pregnant, to pregnancy loss to then being pregnant and how quickly it is all happening.
‘My mind hasn’t fully processed that it’s actually happening some days which is why I kept it quiet for so long.
‘The anxiety in the beginning was overwhelming and I felt like I had my eyes closed just hoping it all would continue to go well. Which in moments I still very much have whilst allowing myself to feel the joy and celebration of this experience.’
In a social media post last month, the celebrity confirmed she was having a boy by singing to her tummy while getting ready for the Brit Awards.
