Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury celebrated their daughter Bambi’s first birthday with a lavish party, but they are facing criticism for how they handled it.
The celebrity couple, who met on Love Island in 2019, welcomed their first child in January 2023 and celebrated her birthday on Tuesday with gifts, balloons, and cake.
Molly, on the other hand, has been chastised for the colour palette of the one-year-old’s celebration, which featured all-white costumes, transparent balloons, and grey décor.
The model is known for her fondness of neutral tones, yet reviewers chastised the young mother for failing to bring any colour to her daughter’s celebration.
On an Instagram post sharing photos from the big day with a comment paying tribute to her ‘beyond wonderful’ kid, trolls criticised Molly for the monochrome celebration, with user Rosie Hiley calling it ‘boring’.
‘White white pristine white, where’s the colour? Especially for a baby it doesn’t look like a birthday,’ she wrote.
User pr8luv93 called it ‘bizarre,’ while chantelle_s12 said ‘it’s her child’s first birthday a bit of colour or baby pink wouldn’t have gone amiss.’
Donnamarie75x praised the ‘beautiful’ photos but said children and babies ‘need colour for so many reasons,’ with Sharonowen3265 agreeing ‘children are supposed to be stimulated,’ asking ‘don’t you worry about the lack of colour in her life?’
And _tyron_wb asked: ‘Birthday party? Looks more like a wedding.’
Many others defended Molly, pointing out that a kid’s first birthday celebration is for the parents to enjoy because the youngster is too young to grasp what’s going on.
Emma Louise said ‘she’s one, she’s not going to notice whether there’s any colour or not,’ with XJosie.h arguing ‘if that’s what [Molly and Tommy] chose to do then that’s what they wanted.’
‘There’s so much love in them pictures you’re clearly colour blind,’ user Louise Foley said in Molly’s defence.
User Mind_your_manders asked ‘is it your birthday or your child’s birthday? No? Mind your business.’
And Leashaaiv_aestheticnp said she was ‘completely obsessed with this party aesthetic, so sweet and feminine.’
Molly shared plenty of photos from the big day to Instagram, along with the sweet caption: ‘My one year old. Happy first Birthday to my little gir. I love you more every single day. You’re so beyond special Bambi… I’m so proud to call you my daughter.’
In one shot, Molly holds her baby, both dressed in white, as Bambi smiles at the camera, and in another, the one-year-old eats cake in a high chair next to a wall covered in black-and-white images of herself.
Molly also displayed a variety of cakes produced for the event, the majority of which were white, but one she made herself was filled with brightly coloured button chocolate and a rainbow lollipop.

She, Tommy, and baby Bambi celebrated the new year with a luxurious trip to the Maldives, and the influencer revealed that she spent a week ‘hiding from the heavy rain we came across the world for.’
People replied by asking her to’shut up’ because’some people can’t afford meals.
Molly most likely didn’t take the criticism personally, and instead of complaining about the weather, the trio extended their vacation and headed to Dubai to enjoy more winter sun.
