Nicola Adams radiated with joy while cradling girlfriend Ella Baig’s baby bump amid her pregnancy.
The smitten couple announced last month that they were expecting their first child after more than two years of dating.
On Sunday, Nicola, 39, shared an update on their pregnancy journey with a video of her rubbing Ella’s stomach. Ella, 23, holds up a photo of the baby scan to the camera before pulling back and glancing up at Nicola lovingly.
‘I can’t wait for the baby to be born @ella.baig ,’ the former Strictly Come Dancing star captioned the post.
Strictly professional dancer Katya Jones commented: ‘Can’t wait to meet it!!! ,’ while BBC Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo left a heart-eye emoji.
During their pregnancy announcement in February, Nicola explained that they had been trying for a baby for three years through IVF, using her egg and a sperm donor who resembles Ella.
In a joint Instagram post along with a picture of them kissing and another of the baby’s scan, they wrote: ‘We’re so excited to announce that our family is expanding.
‘After what feels like a lifetime, we can finally say we’re going to be parents! We’re so excited to share this magical journey with you all, the ups, the downs everything in between.
‘Welcome to the world little one.’
The sports star, who was the first woman to win a boxing Olympic gold medal, also detailed their fertility journey in Vogue magazine.
‘We decided that Ella would carry the baby, that we’d use my egg, and find a sperm donor that resembled Ella.
‘Unbeknownst to us, Ella went through her first rounds of IVF with an underactive thyroid which can dramatically impact the chances of having a healthy pregnancy.’
The star also revealed that their first round of treatment failed as Ella suffered a miscarriage.
The couple are yet to announce the baby’s gender or due date.
