Nick Knowles set to marry for third time as he proposes to girlfriend

DIY SOS star Nick Knowles has been engaged to girlfriend Katie Dadzie for the third time.

On a recent trip to America, where Nick was working on a production, the TV actor, 60, proposed to Katie, 33.

Katie broke the news to followers on Friday night with a series of beautiful photographs of Nick going down on one knee and Katie beaming with pleasure.

In a photo titled, ‘So last minute something wonderful happened in New Orleans,’ she showed off her haribo ring and posed with her soon-to-be husband.

Nick posted the photo and said, ‘As people were attempting to reveal it before us, there was a harubo ring incident in New Orleans,’ adding that he was’very thrilled.’

Since first meeting in 2021, Nick and Katie have remained in love despite their 27-year age gap, and a source reported early on Friday that the couple had taken the next step.

A source told The Sun the couple are ‘so in love and absolutely adore each other.’

They added: ‘Katie is over the moon that Nick popped the question.’

Katie’s girls encountered Nick’s son at playgroup, and the now-engaged couple hit it off immediately.

Nick will get married for the third time, having previously married Gillian Knowles in 1995 and Jessica Moor in 2012.

He has four children: two with Gillian, one from an affair before marrying his first wife, and a son with Jessica, whom he married in 2014.

Nick stated earlier this year that he feels ‘protective’ of Katie after she revealed she has received ‘upsetting’ trolling due to their age difference.

Speaking to The Sun at the Inspiration Awards, he said: ‘I get upset when they come for people that I care about.

‘Normally I never comment back to the trolls, but on one occasion when people were a little bit judgmental, I was angry on Katie’s behalf.’

He continued: ‘I chose to be on telly so I kind of expect it for me, but for people I care about they shouldn’t have to deal with it.

‘I’m protective of Katie, because people make assumptions about her without knowing anything about her, so that’s why I spoke.’

The event he was referring to occurred earlier this year, after the two were photographed and remarks about their courtship flooded the internet.

Nick wrote on Twitter: ‘I’m raging. The woman I was out to dinner with when we were papped is 32, has degrees in two subjects, runs 3 businesses, is a mother of 2, is wealthier & more successful than me & is intelligent & independent unlike the abusive trolls attacking her. What happened to #bekind?’
