Megan Barton Hanson denies throwing party to celebrate birthday in lockdown as police spotted on her doorstep

Megan Barton Hanson has denied claims she threw a party to celebrate her 27th birthday, after police were seen chatting to her on her doorstep.

The Love Island star found herself at the centre of speculation she had broken lockdown rules, after a number of people were seen leaving her house and carrying bottles of alcohol.

In pictures obtained by MailOnline, Megan is seen speaking with police officers on her doorstep, with sources telling the publication that the police arrived nearly three hours after a group of people were seen arriving at Megan’s home.

A rep for the reality star explained that Megan was not breaching rules in place during lockdown and said that she had been taking part in a photoshoot at her house.

They told Metro.co.uk: ‘It was a production shoot. The people at the house were cast and crew.’

‘It wasn’t a party,’ Megan’s rep added to MailOnline. ‘Megan was actually doing a shoot. The police knocked on the door and then left again after checking.

‘I think approximately six people left, who were the make-up, hair, videographer and crew.’

Megan had shared behind-the-scenes footage from her shoot at-home on her Instagram story, tagging in the photographer as she revealed her birthday shoot will be dropping online on Wednesday.

New restrictions came into play on Monday, with households still unable to mix indoors but people allowed to meet on a one-on-one basis for recreational purposes – not just exercise – outdoors.

People are still required to stay local and schools have returned, as England enters into the first stage of its roadmap out of lockdown.

While Megan has been at home, influencers have come under fire for travelling overseas in recent months and claiming their trips are for work purposes.

International travel is currently banned, unless given a legally permitted reason to do so like work, but many reality stars have still been spotted heading to places like Dubai.

Former Love Island star Olivia Attwood was seen publicly calling out her fellow reality stars for taking said trips.

‘There’s a difference between being able to earn money from wherever you are and being on holiday for work. Whenever I go on holiday, I will post content which I can monetise, but I’m still on holiday,’ she explained in an Instagram video.

‘I don’t go, “Oh me and [my boyfriend] Brad have had the most amazing week in Portugal, but don’t worry, I was flat out working,” you just sound so stupid.’

Hitting back at those she claimed have been moaning about ‘how hard’ being an influencer is, Olivia fired back: ‘People are losing their family members daily, people can’t pay their rent, people’s lifelong businesses they have worked their f**king b******s off for are crumbling around them and you are on your stories on the beach telling us we don’t know how hard it is.’
