Martha Stewart’s Sports Illustrated cover has helped her love life tremendously.
The 81-year-old made history earlier this week when she was revealed as the magazine’s newest cover star, making her the oldest woman to do so.
The American entrepreneur looked lovely in a succession of swimwear, admitting that while she doesn’t spend much time worrying about her age, she realises that her cover is “historic.”
Now, the actress has spoken up about her dating life, hinting that her stunning swimsuit photo has resulted in some offers.
Speaking at her launch party, Martha told Entertainment Tonight: ‘I’ve gotten a few inquiries.
‘Just a couple.’
Martha! Don’t leave us hanging like that!
Despite the rush of possible suitors, Martha has stated that she is not searching for a relationship at this time.
Instead, she’s ‘working hard’ on more important things.
‘You have to make time for certain things,’ she said.
‘My garden is very important.’
Adding that she’s focused on her family, she said: ‘It’s the best. I have two amazing grandchildren.’
Martha does, in fact, have a 12-year-old granddaughter, Jude, and an 11-year-old grandson, Truman, the offspring of her only daughter, Alexis, who is 56.
Alexis was born in 1965 to Martha and her ex-husband Andrew Stewart.
She was married to Andrew for 30 years, but they divorced in 1990 after splitting in 1987.
While Martha has no intentions to return to the dating scene for the time being, she is open to an on-screen fake relationship.
She also told ET: ‘Maybe I’ll do a movie or one of the great series that’s on now.’
She does, however, want to ‘find the ideal leading man’ to feature beside her.
Well, she has already stated that she is open to a romance with Pete Davidson, so who knows what may happen…
Meanwhile, Martha returned to Sports Illustrated to reminisce on her historic cover and her ideas on ageing.
‘When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,’ Martha told the outlet.
‘And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic.’
She added that she wanted to take part in the picture to illustrate that women of all ages can feel beautiful.
‘Age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or in terms of success, but what people do, how people think, how people act, that’s what’s important and not your age.’
What a woman!
