Louise Redknapp is making the most of her time with son Charley before he leaves for university in the United States.
The singer, 48, has two children from her marriage to ex-husband Jamie Redknapp: Charley, 19, and Beau, 14.
Her eldest son travelled to the United States for college last year, and Louise admitted to Metro.co.uk that she was ‘weeping 10 times a day’ as she prepared to say goodbye.
But, with school out for the summer, the mother and son were reunited, and the trio went on a family vacation to the sun.
Louise said on Instagram that she enjoyed ‘the finest summer break with my sons,’ accompanied with a photo of the family, with the adolescents now towering above their mother.
The mother-of-two was seen with her sons on a golden beach in the evening as the sun began to set, surrounded by palm palms and sun loungers.
Louise showed off her remarkable body in a skirt and crop top, while Charley and Beau wore button-down shirts, Charley in pink and Beau in white.
With Charley due to return to America to complete his studies, the conclusion of the summer vacations is going to be bittersweet – and while Louise is understandably proud of her son, it’s also difficult to say goodbye.
Last year, she claimed that she was continually sobbing over her son’s departure from the nest and the nation, stating, ‘I keep crying. I cry like 10 times a day at the moment, like if someone’s nice to me I start crying like, “Sorry it’s just my son’s going to university.”‘
‘Everyone who’s had kids go off to university say it’s normal. I’m super proud of him but, God, I’m gonna miss him.’
Charley, like his football-star father, is pursuing a sporting career in his new home state of Arizona, and was escorted to college by the Liverpool icon, who said he was ‘so proud’ of his son.
He wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘We’re so proud of you and we’ll be with you every run and step of the way. Enjoy and soak in all the incredible facilities at your disposal.
‘Can’t wait to be back to see you again soon. We love you mate.’
Louise and Jamie divorced in 2017 after 19 years of marriage, and Jamie then married model Frida Andersson.
Raphael, Charley and Beau’s half-brother, was born in 2021 to the couple.
