Beloved documentarian Louis Theroux treated us all to quite the thirst-trap today as he posted a cheeky topless photo, glowing after a workout.

In fairness to Louis, it was all about promoting the importance of mental and physical health via one of his pal Joe Wicks’ popular online workouts.

Sharing a selfie from his kitchen, which bared his torso and revealed the presenter to have worked up quite the sweat, he wrote: ‘As the future looks uncertain again it’s important to look after your physical and mental health.

‘I just did the Joe Wicks 15 minute Bondi Beach workout on YouTube and I already feel a million times better.’

He added: ‘Take care of yourselves.’

Louis’ picture had his fans in a dither, with rapper Senator Briggs jokingly declaring it a ‘Louis Therouxst Trap!’ while one follower commented: ‘Helping the ladies get Theroux another Covid Christmas!’

Another declared it ‘the photo we’ve all been waiting for’ while one wrote: ‘Thanks Louis. We all needed this to perk us up this morning. I assume you have a calendar coming out?’

In among the appreciative fans though, BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Stark simply quipped: ‘Thought for a sec that you may have been swinging again…’

The 51-year-old recently revealed he had struck up a ‘Covid bromance’ with popular fitness influencer Joe as they worked together on the documentary Joe Wicks: Mental Health, My Family And Me.

Sharing how it had all come about on The Jonathan Ross Show, the journalist explained that he was worried his viral off-the-cuff impression of the star – with him and his family big fans of Joe’s online workouts during lockdown – may have upset the 36-year-old.

Louis admitted: ‘I think he was possibly confused, maybe his feelings were even a little bit hurt.’

But things only got better from there, as the pair met in person.

‘I got invited onto his podcast and I said to him, “I really do apologise for doing an impression of you,” and we struck up a little bit of a bromance,’ Theroux said.

‘I heard him on Desert Island Discs talking about his upbringing, and I realised his story was amazing.’

After he then ‘dropped him a line’ to tell the fitness guru he’d be ‘honoured’ to do a documentary on it all, the programme came together, which Louis executive produced and branded ‘a dream project’.
