Lorraine Kelly has dressed up as everyone’s favourite chart-topper Adele (because why the heck not?) and here are the delightful pictures to prove it.
The queen of daytime TV got truly stuck in with hair, make-up and wardrobe, donning a blonde wig, and outfit from the singer’s already iconic Easy On Me music video and even Adele’s signature sculpted talons.
Being dressed up as the Grammy winner for Heat’s bumper Christmas issue in the year of her major comeback with fourth album, 30, Lorraine exclaimed to the publication: ‘This really is such a highlight for me. I just wish I could channel some of Adele’s talent! She is the best singer in the world.’
Admitting that it was ‘a big deal for me’ as she’d ‘never been blonde in my life’, the broadcaster said she was curious to see what she’d look like with the lighter hair and ‘giant nails’.
For the record Lorraine, we think you look pretty fabulous!
The 62-year-old added: ‘I love how Adele comes every five years, dominates the showbiz agenda, and then p***es off again and has her life! I think it’s so brilliant, I really do.
‘I love her, so this is a homage to her. I’m paying tribute to the goddess that is Adele. I just hope she doesn’t mind a woman of my age being her!’
As well as this tribute from Lorraine, Adele was also blessed with the distinction of 30 becoming the highest-selling album in over a year this month as it cruised past the one million sales mark, while the singer also prepares for her 2022 Las Vegas residency.
Lorraine has had a busy December so far, picking up a CBE from Princess Anne for her broadcasting career and charity work earlier in the month,
Being given the accolade by the Princess Royal was ‘extra special’, Lorraine said, and they spoke about their mutual love of Scotland.
‘She (Princess Anne) loves Scotland and supports Scottish rugby, very visibly with her tartan scarf on,’ Lorraine exclaimed.
‘I think she genuinely loves Scotland and that was really nice and we just talked about that.’
Asked about receiving the honour, she continued: ‘It was fantastic. What’s been really lovely is meeting people today and hearing their stories, especially people who have been working at the front line and working for the NHS and all of that.’
Lorraine’s on-screen break came in 1984 when she joined TV-am, and she was appointed an OBE in the 2012 New Year Honours for services to charity and was promoted to CBE in the 2020 Birthday Honours.
She also engineered an emotional surprise reunion via video link for Danny Miller with his fiancée Steph and baby son Albert after he emerged as King of the Castle on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
The couple repeatedly exchanged ‘I love you’s and said they can’t wait to see one another later, before Danny joked that Lorraine must feel awkward being ‘sandwiched between’ them.
