Lisa Snowdon revealed that she had accepted the truth that she will never be a mother to her own children after going through early menopause.
The 51-year-old broadcaster stated that she began experiencing symptoms as early as 44 years old, and that as a result, her chances of becoming pregnant were almost nil.
She has been engaged to her fiancé George Smart since 2016, and she has stated that she would never have biological children with him.
Despite her early sadness at the idea of never having children, she has since embraced her new reality and opted to focus on her blessings.
The former Britain’s Next Top Model host, who believes that “everything happens for a reason,” detailed how she made “peace” with her future.
She shared: ‘I’m at peace now with not having children. I feel like everything is as it is meant to be.’
The star continued telling Prima magazine: ‘When George and I got back together, I said, “You know, if we want to have kids, we probably need to get on with that” and he replied, “Why don’t you and I just go on adventures together?”
‘It immediately took the pressure off.’
She described how she began to notice changes seven years ago, and how as menopause set in, she got more comfortable with the prospect of exploring ‘alternative possibilities’ with her spouse.
Lisa said: ‘Though it’s still possible for some women to have a baby in perimenopause, I knew my partner and I probably wouldn’t be able to have a biological child now.’
In an interview with Fabulous magazine, the renowned face discussed how George handled the matter and thanked him for his help during the process.
‘We’d discussed it in the past, but hadn’t started trying, so I knew we’d have to explore other options in the future if we did want to become parents,’ Lisa revealed.
‘George was brilliant about it and told me we could look into alternative ways in the future. It was a lot to come to terms with.’
Lisa is now looking forward to her wedding, which had to be postponed owing to the pandemic.
