Lauren Harries’ mother has revealed a video shot just after the actress underwent emergency brain surgery.
Katy described it as ‘one of the worst moments’ as she saw her daughter open her eyes and sit up in bed for the first time, unsure of how she would recover.
Lauren, who placed third on Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, underwent the treatment in April, with her mother appealing for people to remember her.
She’s been keeping her fans updated on her recovery, stating that she’s been dealing with ‘permanent headaches’ and severely damaged wrists and hands.
The kid prodigy also had her ‘biggest fear’ when she lost her beautiful curly curls and ‘almost died’ from illnesses.
Katy, 80, took to Twitter to share the newest news, uploading a video of her 45-year-old daughter clutching her hands while sitting in her hospital bed.
‘One of the scariest experiences of a mother’s life, seeing your child hurting,’ she wrote.
‘All I wanted to do was swap places with Lauren.’
She explained: ‘This is just after her brain surgery, even then we had no idea if we’d ever get our Lauren back again.
‘Seeing her like this was terrifying.
‘She has been so brave and I am so proud of her for all she’s been through.’
‘We love you so much Lauren. Xxxx’, she signed off.
Lauren’s followers were quick to send their well wishes.
‘I Hope she continues to improve, get well soon Lauren x’, one replied.
‘Keep going Lauren you’ve got this x’, tweeted another.
‘You are both very brave, I hope Lauren is doing ok and continues to recover a little more each day, I send big hugs to you both xx’, another penned.
Lauren, who gained to popularity as an antiques expert, recently informed admirers that her near-death experience has made her more grateful of life.
She wrote in a message shared on her Instagram Stories: ‘Hello my stars. Well I’m still in hospital.
‘Nearly dying makes you appreciate every moment. So enjoy the sunshine and know that I love you. Light, love and peace.’
Meanwhile, she is undergoing tests to establish the source of her “blackouts.”
Mum Katy tweeted on Friday (June 2): ‘Lauren had an M.R.I. scan this morning. Hopefully, this will decide what is causing continuous headaches and blackouts. We thank you so much for your messages and cards. Keep you updated’.
They’re now awaiting the results.
