Kris Jenner and her granddaughter Stormi Webster took the phrase ‘saved by the bell’ to whole new heights when the three-year-old interrupted her grandmother’s interview with expert timing, just as she was asked to spill the beans on her daughter Kim Kardashian’s romance with Pete Davidson.
Appearing on CNN via video link from LA for a chat with broadcaster Anderson Cooper and his New Year’s Eve co-host Andy Cohen in New York City’s Times Square, 66-year-old Kris laughed at the ‘nice distraction’ as her granddaughter clambered onto her lap.
Andy had gone in with a direct question during the interview, asking the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star: ‘Everyone is talking about Kim’s new relationship with Pete Davidson. Have you had the chance to spend time with them? How are they as a couple?’
Seemingly trying to soften the direct question, Anderson joked to Andy: ‘You’re always digging, Andy’, to which Andy replied: ‘Yes, I am!’
However, no sooner had Andy started his question than little Stormi – daughter of Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott, who are expecting a second child together in 2022 – ran into the room behind Kris and then right up to her side, causing Anderson to remark: ‘You have a visitor.’
As it was just coming up to 5:45pm in LA, the three-year-old was dressed ready for an early bed time in pyjamas and with her hair in plaits as she looked into her grandmother’s screen with interest.
As Stormi climbed excitedly onto her lap, right in front of the camera, Kris commented: ‘Nice distraction. Good timing, Stormi. Perfect!’
She then joked: ‘Right on cue!’
Whether Stormi’s interruption was the case of a perfect accident, or she was sent in to divert attention from the question about Kim and Pete, Kris seemed happy to make her the centre of attention and avoid fanning any flames with new gossip on one of 2021’s most unexpected couples.
Andy and Anderson seemed to take the hint that they wouldn’t be getting anything out of the momager as they then wrapped up their interview segment with the star and exchanged warm wishes with her for the new year ahead.
‘Well, I go to bed at nine o’clock,’ she replied in response to a comment about partying the night away, adding: ‘We’ll be watching you guys and watching the ball drop. Thank you for having us, and lots of love to you both!’
As well as dodging that question like a pro, Kris had already had plenty to celebrate this festive season as her surprise Christmas single with daughter Kourtney Kardashian and fiancé Travis Barker landed in the top 5 debut songs in the US on Spotify.
She also made sure to go all out for Christmas this year, gifting her six children colourful electric MOKE cars, as you do, even making sure that Kourtney and Travis’s had a skull on, of course.
