Kim Kardashian tweeted a photo of her Barbie-themed dinner from last night, and it was, to put it mildly, fascinating.
The mother-of-four allowed North West, 10, prepare their food for the evening. The young girl was obviously influenced by the current hit movie, Barbie.
Kim had previously posted a screenshot of the screen in what seemed to be a private cinema—possibly her own—with scatter cushions in the background on Instagram.
The word “Barbie” was prominently displayed on the screen in pink with a pink backdrop, implying that she and her daughter may have been watching the new movie or at least one of the legendary Mattel doll’s many past big screen appearances.
After that, she shared a photo of her supper plate, which had spaghetti made by her chef daughter.
However, it can’t be denied that the penne in issue was vividly pink. It was quite a sight, especially given that Kim seems to have missed out on some of the more typical gastronomic pleasures.
‘North made me Barbie pasta for dinner,’ wrote Kim in explanation, next to the pasta, which was covered in think bright pink sauce with flecks of black in it.
And in case you were wondering what on earth Barbie pasta might consist of, Kim helpfully added: ‘Aka dragon fruit pasta’.
Even while it could still seem like an odd pairing, there are well-known recipes for this meal that show pink pitaya powder is what gives the pasta its distinctive colouring.
The Barbie movie continues to excite viewers in the UK and throughout the world, and Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken, even made his UK chart debut in the top 40 with the help of his power ballad from the movie, “I’m Just Ken,” which peaked at number 25.
It follows in the footsteps of other chart-topping songs from the soundtrack and official album, such as Charli XCX’s Speed Drive at number 19, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice’s remix of Aqua’s Barbie World at number 5, Dua Lipa’s Dance the Night at number 4, and What Was I Made For by Billie Eilish at number 3.
The film has so far scored a massive $774.5million (£602m) at the global box office after being in cinemas just over a week and a half, according to Deadline.
After speaking with Kim while working for Extra in Los Angeles, Mark Wright has been praising her as one of the finest individuals in show business.
‘When people ask me who surprised me the most, I say Kim Kardashian,’ Mark explained.
‘She was amazing.’
He added on the Saving Grace podcast: ‘Our camera crews were setting up and someone called her in and she came in on her own without a team or anything.
‘We weren’t ready and my producer was really worried and she goes “that’s ok, I’ll just sit here”.’
Mark went on: ‘So she sat with me for about 20 minutes just talking about life, my family, where I was from.
‘[We] started the interview and every time I saw her after that, she knew who I was instantly, lovely down-to-earth girl.’
Barbie is in cinemas now.
