Kerry Katona has opened up on her struggle with disordered eating after ending up in tears over her relationship with food.

The former Atomic Kitten star, 41, has revealed that she has struggled with secretly binge eating, believing she has a form of eating disorder.

She explained: ‘I’ve been in tears over my relationship with food. I have real issues. For example, the other day I bought a kebab and I hid on my own and binged on it.

‘I’ll eat food, and then I’ll feel like I want to be sick. I definitely have some kind of eating disorder.’

The mum-of-five added in her latest column for New! magazine that her confidence had also taken a dip, to the point she feels uncomfortable even with her fiancé Ryan Mahoney, 33, looking at her.

She admitted: ‘I hate the way I look – I don’t even want Ryan to see me at the moment. I feel so insecure. I’m not sure why I feel like this.

‘I don’t know if it’s because of my age, or if it’s because Ryan’s younger than me, or if it’s because I’m in the media. I need to do something about it.’

Kerry added that she would be getting back in touch with The Speakmans, a pair of therapists, to see if they might be able to help her through her issues with food and her body confidence.

She also revealed that she has recovered from her recent breast reduction surgery and is now a proud member of the ‘itty bitty t*tty committee’.

Kerry underwent the operation at the end of April from a triple D cup bra size, which she equated to an E, to go down to a C or D after having her implants removed.

Before going into surgery, Kerry told her followers she was nervous and her mouth was ‘dead dry’, but then joked that she ‘should be used to this by now’ following her previous cosmetic procedures.

She joked: ‘I’ve been sliced and diced that much I should probably give instructions. I’m like a flat pack from Ikea – that leg goes there, that t*t goes there.’

Kerry later updated fans to let them know she was recovering well after the surgery and promised to share the results in due course.
