Kendall Jenner has opened up about the panic attacks she deals with in a teaser for a four-part series on mental health with Vogue.
The model, 25, revealed that she first started to experience panic attacks a few years ago, which would wake her up in the night.
Speaking in a teaser clip for the series, Kendall revealed: ‘Two or three years ago I genuinely started having very, very bad panic attacks.
‘I was having frights in the middle of my sleep, literally what felt like heart palpitations. I couldn’t breathe. I was pretty bad.’
Dr Curley Bonds, Chief Medical Office for LA County, who was one of the people Kendall interviewed for the series, concurred, adding: ‘The more people that come out and talk about their anxiety, the more the public is aware that this is a real thing.’
Vogue added: ‘According to the CDC, reports of anxiety more than tripled at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, fuelling a mental health crisis that persists even as vaccination rolls out across the world.
‘In “Open Minded: Understanding Anxiety,” a new four-part series featuring @KendallJenner, Vogue will explore various causes and effects of low-grade anxiety disorder, from which Jenner herself has suffered for years.’
It’s not the first time Kendall has spoken out about her battle with anxiety, revealing last year about how she was finally diagnosed.
Kendall explained on Good Morning America at the time: ‘[Mother, Kris Jenner] took me to a bunch of doctors just to make sure it was all OK physically, and I was.
‘No one ever told me that I had anxiety. Maybe like three years ago, four years ago, it came back completely full-on and I would have crazy panic attacks. Finally, I got the information that I needed about it.’
