Katie Price supporters are overjoyed to learn that she will be appearing in a pantomime this Christmas.
While some may be questioning how we’re looking forward to the holiday season when it’s not yet May, others are overjoyed that the 44-year-old will be taking the stage as the evil fairy Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty.
The Mucky Mansion star announced the news with a colourful purple poster portraying herself in character and centre stage, complete with a fantastic devil horn helmet.
‘I’m beyond excited for this…Catch me as Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty at the M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool over Christmas 💜🎼😘’ the former glamour model wrote alongside the image.
The performance will take place in Liverpool’s M&S stadium from December 16 to 30, with tickets starting at £24.50.
Lucy Kay, a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent, and comedic personality Bippo will appear with Katie.
On her new role, Katie said: ‘I am so excited to be performing in Liverpool. I love the city and can’t wait to bring my kids along with me and make some amazing memories.’
Fans flooded to comment on the news, as one wrote, ‘Can’t waaaaiitt!! 🙌🙌’ while another congratulated Katie and vowed they’d ‘definitely be coming to watch’.
But some of Katie’s 2.6 million Instagram followers were perplexed that she was sharing pantomime news so early in the year.
One person wrote, ‘Shut up talking about Xmas already. Jesus !!’ as another chimed in: ‘it is early on in the year to think about Christmas lol’.
Others were sceptical Katie would complete her theatrical run after she postponed a cosmetics workshop last year, leaving some fans dissatisfied.
‘Will do a couple of shows then make excuses to pull out 🙄’ predicted one person, while someone else said: ‘Got a feeling that you will pull out of this’.
Katie, on the other hand, played the ‘wicked fairy’ in a Woking Sleeping Beauty pantomime in 2015.
A review in Surrey Live called the production ‘one of the funniest pantos I’ve ever seen,’ admitting Katie was a little ‘wooden’ but definitely got the crowd going.
Katie became bankrupt in 2019 after failing to pay £3.2 million in bills.
Her hearing is still proceeding.
