Katie Price ‘devastated’ over petition calling for her to be banned from owning animals after pet puppy dies

Katie Price has reportedly been left ‘devastated’ over an online petition calling for her to be banned from owning pets for life.

The campaign was launched following the death of the former glamour model’s French bulldog puppy Rolo in July, who had been a birthday present for her eldest daughter Princess, 13.

According to reports, the French bulldog had died after a ‘tragic accident’, with his body discovered at their Surrey home.

Katie, 42, also sadly lost her Alsatian Sparkle in February, when the pooch was killed on a busy road near her home.

Another dog owned by the star, Queenie, was killed after being hit by a delivery driver who ‘left her to die’ in 2018.

The online petition, which was started by Jennifer Hewitt on Change.org, claims that many animals have ‘died from lack of care’ or have gone ‘missing’ from Katie’s home.

It read: ‘A puppy has died in the last 24 hours in Katie Price’s care, she brought this puppy for her 13 year old child 3 weeks ago.

‘In the last 5 years more animals have died from lack of care. Horses, dogs, cats, lizards, hedgehogs. This isn’t a single family tragedy. It’s a common thing in Katie Price’s home.

‘Two dogs have been ran over. Puppies were found dead drowning in a neglected swimming pool. A horse was run over on a motorway. Animals just go missing in her home never to be seen again.’

It added: ‘Her guard dog broke into her neighbours garden and killed their chickens. A dog trained to attack people also ripped her cat apart.’

The petition also alleges that there were scenes of neglect that had been broadcast on Katie’s reality series, My Crazy Life, including animal faeces ‘with mould growing on it and left on the floor’ as well as ‘clothes dumped all over the place’.

A spokesperson for Katie has since told The Sun that she is ‘aware’ of the petition circulating online, but it is ‘incorrect’ for it to state that she does not love animals.

They told the publication: ‘Katie is aware of this petition. It comes as a devastating blow as it is wholly biased, based on hearsay and not actual fact.

‘Katie loves her animals, to say otherwise is incorrect, unjust and unkind, it couldn’t be further from the truth.’

Animal rights organisation Peta has also recently stated that the reality star should no longer be allowed to own any more pets.
