Kaley Cuoco has stated that she developed carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) while carrying her 5-month-old kid.
The Big Bang Theory star, who had Matilda in March with fiancé and fellow actor Tom Pelphrey, revealed she had the disease while working out with trainer Ryan Sorensen on Instagram.
She began the video: ‘Some of you may know I have this major wrist/hand injury from holding the baby.
‘It’s a very real thing – Google it! I think the only way to make [my wrists] better is for us to start working out without using my hands, and without using any body weight on my hands.’
Wearing wrist splints, Kaley, 37, explained she was guiding viewers through an adapted exercise routine to prove ‘you can still get a workout even if you are injured.’
According to the NHS, CTS is pressure on a nerve in your wrist that causes tingling, numbness and pain in your hand and fingers, with symptoms usually worse at night.
Wearing a wrist splint, using pain relievers, doing hand exercises, and avoiding acts that worsen the illness are among at-home remedies advised by the health agency.
It recommends seeing a doctor if that does not work or if your symptoms worsen or do not go away.
Kaley and Ozark actor Tom, 41, have frequently posted beautiful Matilda images and even got matching tattoos in memory of their bundle of joy.
‘I cannot believe how natural he is, how much he loves it,’ The Flight Attendant actress said of Tom’s parenting style.
‘I mean, when we were in the hospital, he did everything — every diaper, he’s the swaddle king.
‘All the nurses said, “Oh my God, you’re the best guy swaddler we’ve ever seen”.’
Kaley previously shared her thoughts on parenthood on the red carpet at the An Evening From the Heart gala for the John Ritter Foundation in May.
She said: ‘She’s amazing. She’s five weeks old and she was laughing today, full on laughing and I was like, “This kid is hysterical!”
‘I’ve become that mum who posts every freaking thing. She does something, and I’m like, “I have to post that!”’
Kaley announced Matilda’s birth on social media earlier this year, along with the first images of the baby.
‘3-30-23. Introducing, Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey, the new light of our lives! We are overjoyed and grateful for this little miracle,’ she wrote at the time.
‘Thank you to the doctors, nurses, family and friends who have helped us immensely over the last few days. We are blessed beyond belief.
‘@tommypelphrey didn’t think I could fall even more in love with you, but I did.’
Kaley and Tom started dating last April, and announced their pregnancy news on Instagram last October, following a whirlwind few months.
