After sharing a number of photos from his family’s vacay in South Lakeland, Jonnie Irwin gave followers a glimpse inside his perfect vacation.
After making a tragic statement last year at age 48, the former presenter of A Place in the Sun is currently on vacation with his wife and three young children in the Lake District.
Since coming out with his terminal cancer diagnosis in November, Jonnie has been spending as much time as possible with his loved ones.
The celebrity was originally diagnosed with lung cancer in August of 2020; by the following year, it had gone to his brain.
On Wednesday, the property host shared a collection of photos from his family’s outdoor excursion to Instagram, including many selfies.
‘Today out in the fresh air was what we all needed,’ he said as a caption for the heartfelt image.
‘How I’d love to be up on those fells but staying low around the waterfalls with the family was wonderful in a different way. #thelakes [sic]’.
The famous actor cuddled up with his wife and three children, all wearing orange puffer jackets and yellow beanies.
In the comments area, fans and famous people expressed their admiration and best wishes for the star.
Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh left a red love heart under the family portraits, while a fan of Jonnie’s penned: ‘Beautiful pictures Jonnie. What an inspiration you are. Never give up the fight. And So many out there fighting too. Keep going everyone. Never say never big hugs [sic].’
Another fan noticed the difference in the star’s appearance from a few months ago and said: ‘Whatever you are doing to “starve the cancer” appears to be having a significant effect on your face and body. The difference between photos from just over a Month ago and now is amazing. Keep strong and don’t stop [sic]’.
Last year, Jonnie broke his silence in an interview with his wife Jessica.
He told Hello! magazine at the time: ‘I don’t know how long I have left, but I try to stay positive and my attitude is that I’m living with cancer, not dying from it.
‘I set little markers – things I want to be around for.
‘I got into the habit of saying: “Don’t plan ahead because I might not be well enough.” But now I want to make plans.
‘I want to make memories and capture these moments with my family because the reality is, my boys are going to grow up not knowing their dad and that breaks my heart.’
