Jonnie Irwin, who is battling cancer, tweeted a lovely video of himself playing dress-up with his three boys on Wednesday.
When he was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer that had spread to his brain in August 2020, the 49-year-old A Place In The Sun broadcaster was given six months to live – and publicly gave his health update in December.
The celebrity shared the heartwarming moment on Instagram, filming his three-year-old son Rex and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac as they pranced about the home in superhero costumes.
Jonnie captioned his post: ‘3 superheros under one roof. Im not sure I’ll make the grade! [sic]’.
The star’s eldest was seen in the video flinging himself about their Hertfordshire house while clad in a blue cat costume and mask.
The presenter was overheard asking his kid who he was dressing up as, to which Rex excitedly replied, ‘Cat boy!’ in reference to the primary character in Disney’s PJ Masks.
Following his performance, the three-year-old was followed by his twin brothers, who were dressed as Chase from Paw Patrol and the Incredible Hulk.
Jonnie shot a photo of himself in the Cat Boy mask and yelled after his kids: ‘You are scary canary’.
Fans praised the father and provided words of encouragement in the comments section.
One penned: ‘You’ve so made the grade and then some… I also love how you have coordinated the scarf with the mask…. Ever stylish xx [sic]’.
Another wrote: ‘You will definitely make the grade x your their super hero [sic]’.
‘Definitely 5 superheroes there. What a gorgeous family you have [sic],’ a social media user said under the action-packed post.
Jonnie – who celebrated his 50th birthday earlier this week – explained his current condition to The Sun and revealed: ‘I’m weak now, fragile and my memory is terrible… but I’m still here.
‘I tried to play football with Rex the other day and was in goal and I couldn’t get near the ball. It was so frustrating.
‘I’m very sporty and suddenly it’s just like…it was as if it was the first time I’d attempted football. I felt like a granddad. And that broke me a bit.’
