Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash are back to being relationship goals, after having anything resembling a fight over having more children.
The couple married last year in a beautiful ceremony at their home in Pickle Cottage, and they have three children together: Rex, four, Rose, one, and five-month-old Belle.
Stacey has boys Zachary, 15, and Leighton, 12, from prior partnerships, while Joe has son Harry, 16, from a previous relationship.
Baby Belle surprised the couple, who only found out Stacey was pregnant late in her pregnancy – but there might be more little Solomon-Swashes on the way.
Stacey stated Joe had been discussing having more children, which he rejected half-heartedly, and that he had refused to have a vasectomy ‘in case we want one more.’
The disclosures came when Stacey uploaded a video with her Instagram followers in which she revealed, exasperatedly, that Joe had returned from a three-day fishing trip admitting he ‘felt a bit fatigued’ – after Stacey had been left alone with the kids for three days.
Joe grinningly argued he had been taking up at 3am to catch fish, saying he needs ‘a little lie-down,’ with Stacey striking back: ‘I need a lie-down, you left me with the kids for three days! In three days you had to get up three times and that’s tired you out.’
She added: ‘And who’s the one who says “Oh we should have more children, let’s keep having children until the cows come home?”‘
Joe insisted he ‘never said that,’ with Stacey clapping back: ‘You say it all the time. What did you say when I said get a vasectomy? “What if we want one more?” And by we you mean you.’
A sheepish Joe said someone had told him a vasectomy ‘makes you age really fast’ – which may have been heard down the pub or online as there is no mention of this potential side effect on any NHS, Mayo Clinic or other medical site.
Once again showing their quick and banter-filled relationship, Stacey shot back: ‘Oh well that will make no difference to you.’
‘I’m 41 years old and I look younger than you,’ Joe said, with Stacey replying: ‘Yeah but you can’t fish for three days without being exhausted.’
As the pair got into the joking back-and-forth, Stacey suddenly stopped and told her husband: ‘Stop rubbing yourself up against me, get off it, or we’ll have more kids and you’ll still want to go fishing.’
While the couple appears to be undecided about whether they are finished having biological children, they are serious about future plans to foster children.
After his mother fostered a child for 15 years – his brother, Daniel – Joe indicated that when their own children are “old enough,” they will consider fostering.
‘We love kids and Stacey is on the same page as me. She watched my mum’s journey, she’s watched Daniel’s journey. She’s been a massive support.’
