Jessie J is an icon in and of herself, and 35 days after giving child, she delivered the most encouraging message on post-partum body confidence.
The 35-year-old Price Tag singer resorted to social media to share some advice with her 13.3 million fans.
The performer expressed her appreciation for her body in a long statement accompanied with a candid black and white photo of her physique 11 days after giving birth.
Jessie – full name Jessie Cornish – went on to express her gratitude that her body had created an entire human being over the course of nine months.
She promised to enjoy her new body and be gentle with it while it recovers from pregnancy and childbirth.
After a terrible miscarriage in 2021, the singer has been quite open about her journey to parenthood.
The Do It Like A Dude singer was even warned she wouldn’t be able to conceive naturally at one time.
Then, in January, she and her partner, basketball star Chanan Safir Colman, announced that they were expecting a child.
Then, in May, Jessie J announced the birth of her first child, a son named Sky.
Now, while providing updates on how she’s adjusting to parenthood so far, the actress shared some wise words for mothers worldwide.
‘I’m writing this for myself as well as any one else that needs to read this,’ she began.
‘Your body was a home for someone else to live in for 9 months. Your organs have moved and need to find their way back to where they were before. Your uterus is still deflating slowly.
‘Your hormones are flying and crashing. Your body is working the hardest it has ever worked. You are exhausted but you are magical. You grew a whole human.
A human who is doing this with you and loves you beyond measure.
‘Take your time. Be easy on yourself, your body AND your mind. Remember you are in recovery and don’t forget to also remind those around you.
‘Celebrate your new body. It HAD to change. It will be bigger and smaller in different places. IT IS BEAUTIFUL and NATURAL.
‘Ignore the whispers of what some people say you should or shouldn’t look like after a certain time. It’s 2023. People need to chill.
‘It’s your journey. Your time and YOUR body. It’s not the same as anyone else’s, and that’s what makes it special. You are unique. 🤍
‘This was my body 11 days after giving birth and I still look pretty much the same now 35 days on.
‘I LOVE my body. It has given me the most magical roommate inside and outside of my body.
‘And when it’s ready and able to change again it will. Whatever that looks like. I’m here for it.
‘You are doing amazing Mamma. You the MVP.’
Love her!
