Jessica Alba has revealed her dad Mark has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
The actress is staying positive as he begins treatment, sharing an upbeat video to Instagram of them dancing together at home.
Jessica, 39, said: ‘My #papasito is about to SLAY #thyroidcancer -starting his radiation therapy mañana.’
Some of her famous friends commented on her post sending the Fantastic Four star their support.
Vanessa Bryant, Sam Claflin and Mindy Kaling all sent her love heart emoji, while actor Harold Perrineau commented with praying hands emoji.
Fashion designer Rachel Zoe wrote: ‘You got his’, and actress Rosario Dawson replied: ‘Blessings @markdalba! Sending so much love.’
Mark’s real estate company The Alba Team shared a post on Instagram going into further detail about his health and sharing he had also had Covid-19 in the last few months.
Along with a video of him revealing a scar on his neck, the post said: ‘As a family and a team we have been dealing with health scares and some of us have had Covid and recovered.
‘Mark in particular has battled Covid-19 and thyroid cancer (the reason he’s showing off his new neck scar) in the past few months, with some radiation on the way soon for healing. He’s positive and feeling great right now. It takes a lot to keep Mark down.
‘Wishing our team captain ALL THE BEST as he takes care of his health in these next weeks.’
The statement added that the company would keep followers updated on his progress.
