As well as being a car expert and farmer, Jeremy Clarkson can now put being a brewer on his CV too as he’s officially got the UK’s number one selling beer on Amazon.

The Clarkson’s Farm host, 61, saw his Hawkstone Lager top the charts just eight hours after it was launched, outselling well-known brands like Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois.

The lager, which is produced from barley Jeremy grew himself on his Diddly Squat farm in the Cotswolds, has proved immensely popular after he launched it with a ‘p**s up in a brewery’ event.

It is so popular in fact that Jeremy and his team are considering putting a limit on how many customers can buy online to try and prevent it from selling out before Christmas.

As well as Amazon, which Jeremy call’s ‘Jeff’s website’ in honour of Jeff Bezos, Hawkstone lager can also be bought online and at the Diddly Squat Farm Shop.

He joked in the promo video: ‘Good news – I thought you’d only be able to buy my lager from my own farm shop, but it turns out you’ll also be able to buy it from Jeff’s website. Cheers!’

Jeremy’s Hawkstone Lager came about after he found the ‘hard and unforgiving’ Cotswold Brash soil on his farm yielded unusually high quality malting barley which is perfect for brewing.

He teamed up with the local Cotswold Brewery’s Rick and Emma Keene to create the ‘very highest quality premium lager’, naming it after the Neolithic standing stone situated close to Jeremy’s farm.

Jeremy’s show, Clarkson’s Farm, and his Diddly Squat Farm Shop have proved so popular that fans have regularly caused traffic jams by popping along for a visit.

At least now you can stock up on his beers from home – though it looks like you’ll have to be quick if you want a pint of Hawkstone over Christmas.
