Jennifer Lawrence is set to star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in new Netflix movie Don’t Look Up and it’s set to feature her rocking a brand new look.
The actress, 30, and DiCaprio are at the helm of the political satire disaster comedy and they play two low-level astronomers who embark on a media tour to warn the world about an asteroid that is set to destroy Earth.
Don’t Look Up is due to drop on Netflix later this year, with filming still underway in Boston.
The latest pictures from set saw Jennifer filming a scene in the snow and she looked totally different while in character, thanks to her fiery new locks.
Jen was seen with red hair that featured a sharp, blunt fridge and her head shaven slightly at either side.
She was dressed in character in knee-high boots and a checked coat and was seen leaving a beat-up van, before making her way over to a nearby blue house with an American flag hung up outside as the cameras rolled.
Jennifer was joined by production crew who were all seen wearing masks and protective visors on set – complying with new filming regulations amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Her co-star Meryl Streep, who plays the President of the United States in the movie, previously revealed what it’s been like on set due to Covid-19, with Meryl explaining that the number of extras have been reduced and scene set-ups have been modified.
Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Meryl recalled filming a scene that sees her as president addressing a 20,000 strong crowd in a stadium.
She said: ‘It was not normal at all. First of all, there weren’t 20,000 people, obviously. They’ll duplicate them in.’
‘There were extras all around the stadium – lonely people separated by 20 feet of air, wearing masks and visors that are clear. The whole thing is so eerie and odd and disconcerting.’
Meryl continued. ‘We, of course, all have masks that at the last minute we take off and your lipstick is all up here.’
Fans are eagerly waiting for Don’t Look Up to finally hit screens, thanks to its stellar cast that sees Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Ariana Grande, Chris Evans and Friends star Matthew Perry starring alongside Meryl, Jennifer and DiCaprio.
Teasing what’s to come from the movie, Netflix gave fans a first look at Don’t Look Up last month, when it dropped its trailer revealing the exciting new releases landing on the streaming platform in 2021.
The trailer ended with a teaser from the upcoming film that saw Jennifer and DiCaprio’s characters looking a little uncomfortable as they touch down in a military plane.
Other films set to drop over the course of this year include Monster, Malcom and Marie starring Zendaya and John David Washington, Outside The Wire, Bad Trip and the third and final movie in trilogies To All The Boys and Kissing Booth.
