Jack Whitehall’s pregnant girlfriend Roxy Horner reveals what kind of dad she hopes he’ll be to their first baby

The model girlfriend of Jack Whitehall has spoken out about their relationship and her expectations for the sort of father he would be.

Roxy Horner, 32, met the comedian, 34, while he was working in Australia, and they ended up spending the epidemic in isolation together.

They’ve been living in his London house ever since, and they’re about to have their first child!

Jack and Roxy shared her happy pregnancy news in May, with the humorous man joking that now that he’s about to become a father, he “should probably finally learn how to drive.”

Roxy was questioned about Jack’s parenting, and she predicted that her celebrity other half will be a ‘wonderful dad’ – and he’ll definitely come through with the jokes.

‘I know we’ll count on him to constantly make the baby smile and laugh! I hope to be someone our child can always rely on, we just can’t wait for them to be here,’ she said sweetly.

Roxy noted that learning she was pregnant was a great shock, however bittersweet.

‘We tried for a baby last year, so it shouldn’t have come as a surprise,’ she explained. ‘We were in Australia when we found out, and he (Jack) was overjoyed, but it was a strange time for me since I’d just lost my grandmother a few days earlier. But learning our good news restored some of our happiness.’

Despite how strong their connection is and how excited they are to be parents, Roxy has said she wasn’t ready for Jack to talk about their love life on stage, because he’ll certainly make jokes about their baby when they come later this year.

‘He’s already been doing that!’, she said, noting that she recently scolded Jack for mocking their poodle in his routines.

‘If I’m totally honest, at the beginning when Jack would talk about our personal life so openly, I definitely struggled with that,’ she admitted.

‘While I’ve been in the public eye for a while, even before Jack and I were together, I’ve never had my personal life so out there,’ Roxy added.

‘I’ve always tried to keep a professional face, maybe I liked to keep an element of mystery about my personal life, but I guess if I’m going to be with a comedian, what did I expect?’

Roxy stated that she had ‘certainly gotten more understanding’ of Jack’s decision to include tales about their courtship in his stand-up gigs.

‘I can’t help but laugh at the things he comes out with,’ she said.

‘He’s currently doing a tour in the UK called Settle Down where he constantly rips into me, our dog, and our baby.’

The runway model is also looking forward to their kid having a bond with both her parents and Jack’s, particularly his father Michael, whom she knows would be a ‘wonderful’ grandfather.

‘It’s going to be my parents’ first grandchild and my mum has been knitting so many cute clothes for our baby – we don’t even need to buy anything!

‘Jack’s parents will be amazing too and I already know this because I’ve seen them with their first grandchild and Jack’s niece Peggy, they are great with her.’

Pregnancy, on the other hand, has created a number of difficulties for Roxy, who has Type 1 diabetes.

After collapsing at the Brit Awards and needing to be resuscitated, the expectant mother-to-be shares her experiences with the ailment publicly in order to provide advise and promote awareness.

Thankfully, things are under control today, and she depends on Dexcom , a pioneer in diabetes care technology, and their revolutionary glucose monitoring systems.

‘I’ve been wearing the Dexcom G7 Real-Time Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (rt-CGM), which is a medical device that helps me monitor my blood glucose levels, it saves me having to prick my finger all day, which is amazing!’, she shared.

‘My Dexcom G7 also helps increase my time in range – or the time spent with my sugar levels in a target range, which is important for reducing long-term diabetes related complications – and this has been especially helpful during my pregnancy.

‘Overall, I’m managing my Type 1 diabetes pretty well but it’s tough in pregnancy as I’m needing to inject a lot more insulin daily than before!’

Regardless of how great things are going for Jack and Roxy right now, they’re not in a hurry to take things to the next level, so don’t anticipate wedding bells anytime soon!

‘Having a family was more important to us than anything else right now and we can’t wait,’ she said happily.
