Megan McKenna has agreed to marry footballer Oliver Burke after he planned a spectacular proposal.
The couple has been dating for around five months and has now taken their relationship to the next level.
Oliver planned for a romantic boat excursion, but Megan couldn’t appreciate the view at first since she was blinded for the length of the trip. Oliver soon led her to the coast for the big surprise.
On the rose-petal-covered veranda, he got down on one knee.
Megan offers him a bright smile and a hearty ‘yes’ when he asks. ‘Oh my God, this is great,’ Megan exclaims as the two rapidly embrace. This is unbelievable.’
Now that she can see again, she notices the large ‘Marry me’ sign, and the couple sits down at a table for two to celebrate.
The boat they took to go to the seaside site was even named ‘One and Only’ – Oliver, 26, had thought of everything. If the name of the yacht is any indication, the couple is now at Portonovi, a premium resort in Montenegro.
Megan posted a video of the joyous event to Instagram, along with a joyful remark.
‘YES YES YES a thousand times YES. You have opened up a world I never thought was possible,’ she began.
‘I love you Oliver Burke… here’s to forever my future husband.’
Oliver replied: ‘I promise to love you for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to grow old with you my wife to be.
‘I love you. Forever. And always.’
Megan, 30, rose to prominence after appearing in reality series such as Ex on the Beach, Britain’s Got Talent, and, most memorably, The Only Way is Essex.
She had less luck with relationships on those series, having an on/off relationship with Pete Wicks and being previously ‘engaged’ to Ibiza Weekender star Jordan Davies. However, she later disclosed that his proposal was a staged scene from Ex on the Beach.
She has finally found her fairytale romance with Oliver, a Millwall and Scotland national team player.
Celebrity pals raced to the comments section to congratulate Megan and Oliver on their wonderful news.
