Hugh Jackman may be one of the most renowned guys in the world, but it didn’t stop a security guard from telling him off.
The 55-year-old Australian actor has lived in New York for many years, but opted to celebrate the holiday season by getting up early to view a local Christmas landmark.
However, while doing so, he breached a regulation and received a reprimand.
He explained what happened on social media, along with a video and many photographs of him visiting The Rockefeller Centre Christmas Tree.
The monument, which stands roughly 30 metres tall, attracts an estimated 125 million visitors each year, including the Hollywood star.
‘I highly recommend getting up really early on Christmas morning and taking a walk to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree,’ he posted on Instagram.
‘It’s so beautiful and not crowded at all. I did get in trouble for going beyond the barrier, but the security guard was nice and let me go with just a warning,’ he added.
Hugh’s first year as a single man in 27 years follows his breakup from wife Deborra-Lee Furness, 68, a few months ago.
The couple revealed the news in a joint statement in September.
‘We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,’ it began.
‘Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.
‘Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.
They added: ‘We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.’
The couple concluded by saying that would be ‘the sole statement either of us will make’.
Hugh and Deborra-Lee first met on the set of Australian TV series Correlli in 1995.
Only a few months later did he propose.
They have two children, Oscar (23), and Ava (18).
