Holly Willoughby has been supported by her fans as she posted on Instagram following the backlash she and Phillip Schofield faced over the queue for the Queen’s Lying-in-State.

The This Morning star posted a photo of her outfit for the ITV show, captioning it: ‘Morning Monday… see you at 10am on @thismorning.

‘Today we’re joined by everyone’s favourite love story Harry Redknapp and his beautiful Sandra… #hwstyle skirt and knitwear by @cefinnstudio .’

Fans and friends were delighted to see her back on the social media, with Abbey Clancy commenting: ‘There she is !!!! Beautiful girl .’

One fan said: ‘So glad you’ve posted,’ while another added: ‘I missed these posts! Looking lovely hope you’re doing ok .’

‘You look beautiful keep your chin up, the world’s gone mad ,’ another said, while one more added: ‘Ignore the haters girl you’re amazing x.’

Holly and co-presenter Phillip faced widespread backlash after they were accused of ‘jumping the queue’ to see the Queen lying in state ahead of her funeral.

They issued a statement on This Morning, clarifying that they were there to report as part of the media, had not filed past the Queen or taken anyone’s spot, and that they would never jump a queue.

They have been supported by ITV amid the huge public outcry, and a petition to have them both fired from their jobs has reached over 70,000 signatures.

An ITV source has also revealed that actually, on the day of their work visit to see the Queen’s coffin, people waiting in line were happy to see the presenters.

‘Phillip and Holly stopped to meet many that greeted them and had selfies. There was no ill will at all towards them,’ an ITV source told Metro.co.uk.

An ITV spokesperson also rebuffed a claim that Holly and Phil were booed by onlookers on the day.

They said in a statement: ‘This account is untrue and is not a fair and accurate representation of what happened that day.

‘Phillip and Holly were escorted by government staff to work from the media gallery. They did not file past the Queen’s coffin and were there alongside a host of other broadcasters and national media in a professional capacity.’
