Grimes has revealed yet another massive tattoo, and fans are baffled as to how it got etched onto her flesh.
The singer, 35, is well-known for her huge tattoo collection, but her most recent work was not done using a tattoo gun, much to the chagrin of tattoo lovers.
Instead, Grimes’ tattoo artist Glyphomancer verified the huge pink piece of body art is a stick-and-poke.
Stick-and-poke tattoos are done by hand and needle, rather than machine, and are frequently just temporary.
Grimes’ latest tattoo, on the other hand, has some people baffled.
Posting a photo of the hitmaker’s inking, Glyphomancer wrote: ‘Healed white ink + sneak peek of ongoing pink hand poke.’
Beneath the artist’s post, social media users were quick to express their shock, with one person writing: ‘The fact that the pink is hand poke.’
Another added: ‘That pink piece is a hand poke?’ while someone else asked, ‘Hand poke?!!’
Other comments included: ‘Oh my god’ and ‘Wow.’
Grimes, real name Claire Elise Boucher, reposted Glyphomancer’s photo on their own Instagram.
Grimes resorted to social media last month to show off a large tattoo, this time on her calf.
The pattern is inspired by futuristic sci-fi imagery and extends from her thigh to her ankle, like the red creeper weeds from many adaptations and retellings of War of the Worlds.
There is yet to be word on what her ex-partner Elon Musk thinks of the tattoo.
The pair, who dated and lived together from 2018 to 2021, had two children before parting up, both of whom were given contentious names.
It was reported at the time that their first child’s name, X A-12 (pronounced Ex Ash A Twelve), violated California baby naming rules.
Before they had a daughter, Exa Dark Siderael, whose nickname is Y, the baby’s name was altered to X Æ A-Xii, with the Æ A-Xii component being his middle name.
