It turns out hay fever is a great leveller between us and celebs (Picture: Rex/Instagram/natcass1)
It’s the scourge of the Great British summer – but if you’re currently struggling with itchy eyes, a runny nose and sneezing so frequently that your throat is raw, you can take comfort in the fact that celebrity hay fever sufferers are right there with us too.
Just as we’re finally getting back into the swing of socialising and trusting in the fact that the current splendid weather might stick around, hay fever has to come along and make millions of people pay the price.
Several stars have taken to social media to voice their frustrations over their allergies and share their suffering with fans.
Match of the Day pundit Gary Lineker kicked off about his symptoms, succinctly writing on Twitter: ‘Oh hay fever, do f**k off.’
Former Love Island contestant Chris Hughes was in strong agreement over his allergies as he posted: ‘F**k you hayfever you d******d [sic].’
Away from the swearing, fellow Love Island alumna Amy Hart was also suffering with her symptoms, particularly considering the current climate when it comes to any form of public sneezing.
She shared: ‘Sneezing on the train so much that I’ve just made a proper performance of getting my hayfever tablets out so people don’t think I’ve got the rona [sic].’, posting it with a cry-laughing emoji.
Amy previously mentioned her allergies struggle earlier this month, when she revealed her excitement over trying a friend’s ‘homemade elderflower cordial’, which they had ‘promised’ would help ‘treat’ her hay fever.
She continued: ‘Counting down the hours til I go get it [sic].’
RuPaul’s Drag Race icon Cheryl Hole has also not been having the best time of things, commenting: ‘I feel like Tracy Beaker this morning, my hayfever is NEXT LEVEL! [sic.]’, making a reference to children’s author Jacqueline Wilson’s famous character, who refuses to admit to crying and always blames it on hay fever.
But taking the prize for most frustrated unburdening when it comes to hay fever must still go to EastEnders actor Natalie Cassidy, who has been taking to Instagram to share her woes – and swollen eyes.

In a recent video, she labelled herself ‘at breaking point’ as she spoke about the difficulty with her ‘off the wall hay fever’, saying: ‘I’d like to get into a freshly-washed bed, which has been in the tumble dryer unfortunately, not on a line, which you should want – and I want to go to sleep and wake up in October.’
We feel you, Natalie.
