One Direction frontman Liam Payne’s health has prompted fans to express their worry.
Liam, 29, said on Friday (August 25) that he was forced to cancel his planned South American tour owing to a kidney ailment.
Following a hospital stay and doctor’s orders, the Strip That Down hitmaker is recuperating at home, pledging to put on a ‘better’ show for his loving following in the future.
The Brit Award winner apologised to his fans in a social media announcement video, saying his sickness is “something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.”
He thanked supporters for their love and support, with many now expressing concern for Liam’s well-being.
‘The urge to hug him is overwhelming. He looks so sad and disappointed. Liam love, we aren’t going anywhere and will wait whatever time it takes to see you. We want you healthy and happy’, one fan tweeted.
‘Worried ab Liam. I really hope he’s okay’, another wrote.
Another tweeted the star: ‘Please get well soon!! We’re all worried about you, like immensely much, we can’t see you suffering, at least I can’t, I wish you good luck and all the best and everything positive in the world, you mean so much to me.’
‘I’m worried for you my angel. Please get well soon’, another echoed.
One user also mentioned Liam’s history with renal troubles.
‘The fact that Liam Payne has suffered from kidney issues all his life and now him getting kidney infection is just heartbreaking to see. I’m crying because he doesn’t deserve any of this he was so excited for the mini tour and was planning a lot of stuff for it.’
Indeed, Liam has spoken about his health woes in the past.

Because the singer was born preterm, he only has one functioning kidney.
He wrote in One Direction’s 2011 book Dare to Dream: ‘When I was born I was effectively dead. The doctors couldn’t get any reaction from me so I had to be brought round and although it seemed like I was ok, there were underlying problems.’
As a youngster, Liam was in and out of the hospital, and as he grew older, he had to be careful not to drink too much in order to be “healthy.”
However, in August 2012, the boyband alum stated that his previously non-functioning kidney had miraculously recovered.
The outpouring of concern from fans comes after Liam spoke up about his mental health and drug issues.
The Familiar frontman recounted a spell in treatment as he tried to stay clean in a YouTube update video.
‘I was extremely glad when I arrived, to put a pause on life and work,’ Liam said of his stay at the US institution that specialised in helping individuals overcome prior trauma.
‘I didn’t have my phone for nearly a hundred days, I didn’t connect with the outside world at all.
‘Upon leaving, actually, the hardest point was turning the phone back on, it was a little bit scary. But it was a nice world to come back out to.’
Liam also thanked his ex-girlfriend Cheryl and their six-year-old son Bear for allowing him to ‘leave and get well’.
He acknowledged to hitting “rock bottom,” which made him recognise he needed to “do something” since he was in “bad shape.”
‘Honestly, more than anything I want to say thank you to Bear and his mum for giving me a little bit of freedom to go and get well. There is no point trying to be a dad when you have nothing to teach,’ he added candidly.
‘I feel like I have a grip on life now. After I got back out, that process had worked for me, but there were still some little bits left that I kind of had to deal with myself.’
