Emily Blunt has opened up on her marriage to John Krasinski and how the couple have coped with lockdown.
The actress, 37, revealed to People that her 10-year marriage to The Office star John works s they have a mutual understanding of each other.
She explained: ‘Having John’s support is everything, because we are each other’s confidant. That shared understanding has really been a very vital anchor for me.’
The couple have spent lockdown with their daughters, Hazel, six, and four-year-old Violet, and says the girls have kept their spirits up during the coronavirus pandemic.
Emily explained: ‘Being around little ones during the pandemic was such a saving grace because they would just be bouncing around the house, and your job is to protect them from what is happening and make sure their life remains joyful.
‘That was a pretty great lifeline for John and me during the pandemic, for sure.’
While they usually keep their relationship as private as possible, Emily revealed in 2018 on Late Night with Seth Meyers that the couple actually had a ‘lame’ first meeting in 2008.
She and John had been eating at the same restaurant when they were first introduced to each other by a mutual friend, and John ‘just stood there and made [her] laugh.’
The couple married in 2010 at George Clooney’s estate in Lake Como, and their working lives have since crossed over as they worked together on A Quiet Place, the sequel of which has been slated for release next year.
Emily revealed to People: ‘ I was just really excited to see what John could do with this second one because he had all the wings of confidence from the first one.
‘It’s a much bigger film, the world expands, and I just can’t wait for people to see what he can do as a filmmaker.’
