Eamonn Holmes has shared his pride for his first grandchild as he and his family celebrated her christening this week.
The This Morning presenter, 61, became a grandfather for the first time in July when his son Declan and his daughter-in-law Jenny welcomed their first child, a baby girl called Emilia.
Eamonn shared a stunning photo of him with wife Ruth Langsford as well as Declan, Jenny, Emilia all dressed in their Sunday best as they posed next to an arch made of pink flowers and balloons.
He told his followers: ‘Emilia , my First Grandchild Christened today. Lovely family gathering including adoring parents Declan & Jenny.’
The doting granddad then shared a photo of Emilia the following morning in a pink onesie with elephants all over it, sitting up in a cushion covered with clouds.
‘The Morning after the Day before. My Grand daughter Emilia….. Queen of The Castle,’ he wrote. ‘Her Papa Eamonn besotted by her.’
Eamonn had previously revealed that he would be called ‘papa’ to his grandchildren, saying after she was born: ‘My First born Son Declan with his first born and my first Grandchild Emilia. Welcome to The World Emilia. Just call me Papa.’
He later joked: ‘You’ll spot the connection – Emilia, Eamonn. There’s an E, there’s an M in it, there’s an A. So the child, obviously a tribute. He’s my firstborn, that’s his firstborn. He’s keeping the connection going.’
It comes after Eamonn stepped out to his first event after catching coronavirus, attending the premiere of the movie Belfast in its namesake city.
A spokesperson told Mail Online: ‘Eamonn has tested negative both before leaving England and arriving in Belfast.
‘He passed his lateral flow test and all the requirements as laid down by The Belfast Film Festival for which the opening film was tonight.’
