Daniel Craig doing nothing to dispel Marvel rumours following Doctor Strange chatter

Daniel Craig sent tongues wagging once more after he coyly admitted he would ‘love’ to star in a Marvel movie at some point in his career.

The James Bond actor’s desire came after the rumour mill suggested he was supposed to make an appearance in Doctor Strange.

Ahead of the film’s production, claims were made that the former 007 agent was in talks to take on the role of Thor’s half-brother Balder The Brave in the Benedict Cumberbatch Marvel megahit.

On stage during a live recording of Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast at New York’s 92NY, the acting legend was quizzed over the casting speculation.

The 54-year-old coyly commented: ‘I’ll take any job. If the hours are good, I’ll take it.

‘Sure, I would love to do a Marvel film… absolutely, definitely.’

Before anyone else could fill the shoes that were potentially meant for Daniel, fans found out that Asgardian warrior Balder The Brave was one of many roles to be axed from the sequel.

In October, concept artist for the film Darrel Warren, shared what the vision for the character – who was supposedly a member of the Illuminati – looked like.

His Instagram upload appeared to confirm speculation after fans noticed the image’s striking resemblance to the Knives Out actor.

The caption read: ‘BALDER THE BRAVE | Shame this character went no further than this watercolour.

‘Y’all know the story and if not just go and look it up online……’

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness followed the central titular character as he faced the reprocessing opening a gateway to the multiverse.

The superhero flick starred many a famous face including the likes of Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Benedict Wong.

In the same conversation, the Hollywood hotshot opened up about his 15 years playing James Bond.

He revealed: ‘It was on the pro and con list – that [the role] would change my life.

‘I had a certain level of anonymity at the time, I could still go out and travel and walk through an airport – and I knew that would sort of disappear.

‘But it was also on the pro list, and it worked out for the best.’

The actor was in the US city for a special screening of his latest film Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery held in 92NY on Monday night.
