Brooklyn Beckham takes after his
dad in a variety of ways, and now he’s added another: he’s rocking his father’s legendary buzzcut from 20 years ago.
In a promotional film for a fresh new Japanese drink company, the media personality and former model, 24, also showed off his highly inked arms.
His father, David, 48, was well-known for his frequent haircut changes while playing for Manchester United and the England national men’s football team.
From his floppy curtains in the 1990s to his double ponytail in the mid-2000s, David often set the standard for sports hairstyles during his playing career.
But maybe his most recognisable hairstyle was the buzzcut he had from 2000 to 2002, and again in 2004, which is particularly associated with his footballing exploits in an England shirt.
And, just over 20 years after his father sported the famed trim, Brooklyn has followed in his father’s footsteps, flaunting his fresh new tight shave.
Brooklyn resembled his famous father more than ever in the Instagram commercial video for WeSake, a 1,700-year-old alcoholic drink produced from fermented rice.
It comes only two weeks after Romeo, the Beckhams’ youngest son, adopted the buzzcut and even added a goatee beard to complete the image.
In an Instagram post, Romeo praised his own barber for “helping [him] bring back dad’s buzz,” to which David replied, “Looking good, Romeo.”
Becks revealed to former Manchester United colleague Gary Neville for The Overlap on that he has always liked the shaven appearance.
‘I always loved the skinhead,’ he explained to Neville. ‘Because it was easy – you didn’t have to do anything with it so I loved the skinhead.’
David got a new buzzcut over the Bank Holiday weekend when he and his wife Victoria, 49, were on vacation in Italy, soaking up as much sun and sea as they could.
Their trip to Europe comes just after the Beckhams were seen travelling Nashville, Tennessee to celebrate their Inter Miami League Cup triumph.
The celebrity pair have been married for 24 years, with the Spice Girl and United footballer marrying at the height of their respective fames in 1999.
