During a ‘explosive’ altercation with her ex-husband Sam Asghari, Britney Spears was reported to have seriously damaged her head on a coffee table.
After 14 months of marriage, the 41-year-old singer startled fans by announcing her separation from her lover Sam, 29.
Britney allegedly needed stitches and medical treatment following an altercation that forced her to smack her head off a coffee table after their public breakup.
The charges stemmed from an interview with TMZ founder Harvey Levin, who made the assertions in the documentary Britney Spears: Divorce & Despair, which premiered on Fox on Thursday.
He said: ‘She and Sam were going at it in a hotel room, and it got so bad [that] she tripped and hit the coffee table, cracking her head open. She needed stitches.’
According to the MailOnline, executive producer Charles Latibeaudiere spoke out in the film and said that Britney’s alleged ‘volatility’ was the reason behind Sam’s reason for ending the short marriage to the pop star.
According to the newspaper, past violent altercations between the pair had occurred, as claimed by insiders, and the celebrity had given her ex-husband a black eye while he slept.
After her husband filed for divorce, Britney told fans she ‘couldn’t take the anguish longer,’ but she would remain strong in the face of hardship.
Documents filed in a Los Angeles court claimed ‘irreconcilable disagreements’ and disclosed that the pair separated over three weeks ago.
She addressed the split publicly for the first time last Saturday in a lengthy Instagram statement attached to a video of her dancing.
It read: ‘As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … six years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its (sic) honestly nobody’s business.
‘But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly. In some sort of telepathic way I have been receiving so many messages that melt my heart from friends and I thank you.
‘I’ve been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that.
‘I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but some reason I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses.’
