As the first teaser for Bradley Cooper’s forthcoming Leonard Bernstein biography hit the airways, people were taken aback by his on-screen metamorphosis.
The 48-year-old Hollywood actor performed in Maestro, a Netflix initiative intended at telling the life story of the famed conductor, and appeared to be a million miles different from his usual personality.
In his second directing effort, the actor played Leonard in the biographical romance, which he also produced and co-wrote in addition to acting in.
The film chronicled the famed conductor and composer’s life, with a focus on his tumultuous 25-year marriage to Felicia Montealegre, played by Carey Mulligan, 38.
The celebrity can be seen transforming into the elder version of the singer in a black-and-white teaser, and his change is nothing short of startling.
Beginning with a young gorgeous guy in a stylish suit, the trailer made it obvious that the film will highlight the figure’s romantic life, as expressed by Bradley and Carey in a humorous interaction.

The film showed the couple grabbing one other’s attention in busy areas and gradually showed Bradley aged as Leonard’s life progressed.
As the actor’s hair became grey, the clip began to alternate between colour and black-and-white sequences.
He shed his customary Hollywood appearance and emerged with a somewhat aged, drooping face and salt and pepper locks on his head thanks to prosthetics.
The Silver Linings Playbook actress helmed the production, which also starred Maya Hawke as the couple’s daughter, Jamie, and Sam Nivola as their son, Alexander.
When the film is released, audiences will see Matt Bomer, Sarah Silverman, Gideon Glick, Gabe Fazio, Eric Parkinson, William Hill, Nick Blaemire, Oscar Pavlo, Tim Rogan, and Mallory Portnoy fill their screens.
Maestro followed the actor’s directing debut in 2018, when he added the talent to his resume while filming the adaptation of A Star Is Born, in which he co-starred with Lady Gaga.
The new picture will have its world debut at the Venice picture Festival in September and will be distributed in select theatres in November. It will be available on Netflix on December 20.
