Beauty Couch’s boyfriend has been arrested in connection with her death at the age of 22.
On August 23, the Instagram celebrity, who had over 150,000 followers, was discovered dead alongside a burning car in Austell, Georgia.
Following her death, a spokeswoman for the Cobb County Police Department stated that they suspected foul play and initiated an investigation.
Eugene Louis-Jocques was apprehended by local sheriffs on Friday afternoon during a traffic check in St Tammany Parish, Louisiana.
According to various US news sites, the 21-year-old was arrested on murder, arson, and aggravated assault charges and will be sent to Georgia.
St Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith issued a statement on the update, saying, ‘Let the message be that we do not take kindly to those who believe they can commit a crime elsewhere and try to hide in St Tammany Parish.
‘We were happy to help our counterparts in Georgia by locating this suspect and taking him into custody so he may face justice and Miss Couch’s family can begin to receive closure during this difficult time.’
Cobb County Police Department official stated that they are waiting for Louis-Jocques to be extradited to Georgia.
Last week, the Austell Fire Department received a call about a fire on a Wednesday afternoon and arrived to find a truck engulfed in flames.
Officers were unable to locate a corpse at the spot and proceeded to the home where the car was registered.
The owner’s daughter, Couch, had not been seen since the previous morning and was most likely driving the automobile, they discovered.
Officers returned to the location for a thorough search and uncovered a corpse that matched the influencer’s description.
According to a police spokeswoman, ‘based on the first scene investigation, foul play is suspected, and anybody with information on this occurrence is requested to contact the Cobb County Police.’
Couch amassed a sizable Instagram following after posting videos of herself dancing on roller skates, and she just established her own skating school.
After news of her death emerged, her mother told WSB-TV: ‘She was a sweet girl, she never bothered nobody. She was a friend to everybody.
‘She loved going skating. She loved going to work. She loved her clothes. She loved wearing her hair so pretty.’
