Baftas host Alison Hammond starts getting ready for awards at 7am after partying with A-listers at nominees bash

Alison Hammond is a true soldier, since she has already begun preparing for tonight’s Baftas, despite the fact that the awards are just 10 hours away.

Even more astounding, she woke up at the crack of dawn to start getting glammed up after a night of star-gazing.

The This Morning anchor isn’t wasting any time in preparing for her big night, as she’s scheduled to host backstage at this year’s star-studded EE Bafta Film Awards at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

Alison will be co-hosting the main awards presentation with actor Richard E Grant, so there was much to celebrate last night.

On Saturday night, the former Big Brother star mingled with other A-listers at the EE Bafta Nominees Party at the National Gallery in London, which was attended by Austin Butler, Colin Farrell, Angela Bassett, and Michelle Yeoh.

Alison, 48, shared photos from her glittering night on Instagram, including a glance at her magnificent – and literally star-studded – black gown, which was embellished with huge gold stars and ended with a transparent shawl draped over her shoulders.

Once inside, the presenter bumped into comedian Joe Lycett and took a picture of her holding a champagne flute in front of his face with the jokey caption: ‘Taste of his own medicine my gorgeous @joelycett @bafta ♥️♥️.’

Joe also shared pictures of them laughing over their glasses of bubbles, and wrote: ‘Enjoying a cold crisp glass of champagne with my dear friend @alisonhammond55.’

After a restful night, Alison awoke at an exhausted 7 a.m. to begin her day, and despite the early hour, she appeared to be in good spirits.

Filming from her hotel room, the TV personality said in a video: ‘Morning everyone, it’s a really special day today because it’s Baftas day. Believe it or not, my day starts this early, it’s 7:12am.

‘Still got last night’s dinner in the bedroom. I’m at The Savoy hotel, absolutely loving it. Very excited.

‘You know when it feels like Christmas, that’s what it feels like.’

Panning over to her bed, she quipped: ‘I slept with my script… no one in my bed, just me.’

‘I’m really excited. I’m off to the Royal Festival Hall to go and get ready. Can you believe I’m getting ready this early? I am!’ she concluded.

Austin Butler, Viola Davis, Cate Blanchett, Colin Farrell, and Brendan Fraser will compete in the leading actor and actress categories at tonight’s Baftas, while Aftersun, The Banshees of Inisherin, and Empire of Light are nominated for best British film.

The Baftas 2023 will air on BBC One tonight from 7pm.
