Avril Lavigne teases collab with Machine Gun Kelly and Mod Sun as trio hit the studio together

Avril Lavigne has teased new music in the new year – and it looks like she’s working on a track with Machine Gun Kelly as well as Mod Sun.

The Sk8er Boi star, 36, shared photos of her with MGK, 30, and Mod, 33, in the studio as they posed in front of a drum kit, asking fans: ‘So are we ready for new music in the new year or what? Lemme know….’

Another shot from the set shows Mod on the floor with his famous camcorder, filming while Machine Gun Kelly plays the guitar and Avril looks on.

Other images show MGK and Avril both laying down vocals in the booth for an as yet unknown song.

Avril has spent the past few weeks in the studio working on her new album, which is being produced by John Feldmann, who brought her and Mod together after working on both of their upcoming releases.

News of MGK, whose recent pop-punk album Tickets To My Downfall became his most successful one yet – and Avril jumping on a track together has been floating for a while.

Back in January, We The Kings frontman Travis Clark revealed that he had been working with MGK and Avril for her new album, which is set to be released in 2021.

He told Alternative Press: ‘[With Avril], she was like, “Hey, I see that you post pictures with your buddy Machine Gun Kelly. Do you think you would want to write?”

‘And I was like, “Yeah!” So I texted him. I was like, “Yo, you want to work on a couple [of] songs with me and Avril for her record?” And he said, “Absolutely.”

‘So that all parlayed and ended up snowballing into each other. I end up in really cool sessions that I just never thought I would ever really be a part of.’

Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait too long to see what Avril, MGK and Mod have been cooking up.
