Arnold Schwarzenegger may have raised five kids but that’s not enough to stop his daughter Katherine from getting anxious whenever he tries to hold her baby girl.
The 31-year-old author welcomed her first child, Lyla, with actor Chris Pratt last August and it appears she’s not too keen on her father Arnold being too hands-on as a grandfather.
Speaking about her reactions on Monday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the 73-year-old action star opened up about whether he’s been changing diapers as he stated: ‘I did all of that when I had kids. When my kids were growing up, I participated, and it was a lot of fun to do that.
‘But I have never changed diapers on Lyla, because I think that Katherine is the expert gatekeeper. She just, whenever you touch the baby, says, “Oh, my god! Oh, my god! Like this.”‘
The Terminator star continued: I said, “Katherine, come on, now. I’ve held enough children in my hands. I know exactly what I’m doing. I’m an expert in that stuff.” She just freaks out and does it. [But] I think it’s natural.’
Earlier in the chat, Jimmy asked the former governor of California about life as a grandpa, to which Arnold replied: ‘Fantastic. The only thing is, it makes me feel old to think about, Now I have a grandchild. But it’s really great having a grandchild.
‘It’s a beautiful, beautiful baby—baby Lyla—and I’m very proud of Katherine and Chris. They’re doing really great together as parents.’
Jimmy then pointed out that any child would feel quite lucky to spend time in Arnold’s home, which is filled with plenty of live animals such as miniature horse Whiskey and donkey Lulu.
The Predator star laughed: ‘She has already been over here several times at the house, and she sat on top of Lulu and on top of Whiskey. And I think she’s going to be a great horseback rider.’
Arnold’s chat comes after Katherine spoke out about her decision not to share pictures of her bundle of joy with the world and why they won’t be doing so anytime soon.
