Amanda Holden isn’t concerned about her empty nest since she can’t wait to spend more time alone with her husband Chris Hughes.
The radio personality, 52, and record producer Chris married in 2008 and have two kids, Lexi, 17, and Hollie, 11 years old.
Hollie will have to wait a few years before she can make her own way in the world, but Lexi will be an adult in just a few months – and Amanda ‘couldn’t wait’.
She believes that most couples are afraid of their children leaving home because they find they and their spouse ‘don’t have much in common’ longer.
Whereas she and Chris joke to the children: ‘”You can leave now,” because we still have so much in common, we’re excited about being left on our own.’
Continuing that they were ‘excited to becoming empty nesters,’ she acknowledged they have ‘ages to go’ before Hollie leaves home, and for now they ‘do everything as a unit.’
She added to the Daily Mail that she and Chris had gone on holidays this year and it was like their ‘third or fourth honeymoon,’ and that her 50s was the ‘happiest I’ve ever been.’
It comes after Amanda uploaded a beautiful photo of herself with both of her girls while on vacation in Greece, with oldest Lexi appearing like her mother’s mini-me.
Amanda and Lexi were seen staring off into the horizon as the wind tousled their honey-colored hair in the photo.
Meanwhile, Hollie grinned squarely at the camera, her hair in a braid.
Amanda looked stunning in a beautiful gold gown as the sun set behind them, posing with her girls before the family had a trip to the posh Corfu restaurant The White House.
She sweetly captioned her post: ‘Me and my girls.’
Weeks later, the three embarked on another luxurious trip, this time to Italy, where Amanda was filming the second season of restoration show The Italian Job, together with her sister Debbie.
As their trip came to a close, Amanda disclosed that she and her girls had stayed at the newly renovated La Serena Hotel.
