The wait is almost over – from February Selena Gomez’s highly anticipated beauty brand, Rare Beauty, will be landing in the UK.
Having been sold in the US for three years, British fans have eagerly been waiting for the day it would arrive on our shores.
Set to be stocked in beauty retailer SpaceNK, the products will officially be available online from February 1, then launched in store from February 22.
In the brand’s short life, already there are hero products – such as the liquid blushes, which are incredibly pigmented, with a little going a long way and a variety of skin tones being able to find a good shade.
Other star products in the lineup include the eyeshadow palettes and foundation (available in an inclusive 48 shades), which are rated well by American beauty influencers.
As well as makeup, the brand has a candle and other merchandise items such as a weekend bag, similar to other Gen Z companies like Glossier.
Expect items to sellout in the initial release, thanks to TikTok influencers hyping Rare Beauty up since its inception.
Selena’s messaging for the brand has been about embracing imperfection and using makeup as a tool for celebrating who you are, rather than for chasing unrealistic beauty ideals.
Some of the packaging has been designed to be suitable for those with low mobility in their hands too, so more people can make use of the functionality of the items.
This positive ethos has contributed to new additions in the offering gaining instant attention and positive reception.
As well as well as steering clear of promoting perfected makeup, 1% of all sales go towards the Rare Impact Fund, which aims to increase access to mental health resources in educational settings.
Over the next decade, they hope to raise $100million to support underserved communities – this would make it one of the largest known funds in support of mental health from a corporate entity.
In the last year, $1.5million has been raised.
SpaceNK will also be donating 1% of their direct Rare Beauty sales to the fund.
Rare Beauty seems to be going from strength to strength, with young people and beauty editors equally as excited to get their hands on the standout pieces.
